    The Vice President of Resident Engagement helps deliver on Atria’s promise to provide active, healthy and engaged living environments for its over 23,000 senior residents by leading the implementation and execution of Atria’s Engage Life programs and initiatives for all Atria communities and brands. This individual is responsible for aligning and operationalizing the long-term vision and plan for Atria’s Engage Life services to Atria’s business strategy, creating industry-leading engagement platforms for Atria residents, and leading the operational team of Divisional Resident Engagement Directors and Curriculum Developers.


    • Create, plan, develop, and evaluate industry leading resident programs with an emphasis on health and wellbeing. Build active and healthy aging programs that positively impact the quality of residents’ lives.
    • Lead operational, curriculum, and program training teams in supporting Engage Life programs in Atria communities.
    • Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating of assigned staff in accordance with Company guidelines.
    • Serve as the customer advocate by ensuring implemented resident engagement business solutions meet the needs of the organization. Partner with the SVP, Communications and Customer Engagement and senior management team to align Atria’s service with overall business strategy. Drive knowledge/best practice sharing and collaboration.
    • Drive the strategic planning processes for the development of our Community Program Platform, ensuring that strategic opportunities are identified and explored, structuring the initiatives so they can be executed and providing a framework to develop and manage them.
    • Lead the analysis of key business initiatives related to delivery of our Engage Life service, especially as it relates to using technology to engage and inform residents and families.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders in operations, culinary, sales and other support group functions to design, optimize, and execute existing resident engagement organizational and process improvements.
    • Partner and liaison with Atria’s internal and external program, curriculum, and gerontology experts and influencers to adapt and incorporate thought leadership into a wellbeing platform that benefits Atria’s customers.
    • Scale Atria’s resident engagement platform for growth by maintaining and developing departmental training for department directors and frontline staff.
    • Oversee first-impression expectation deliverables for Engage Life Directors across communities, by brand.
    • Provide accountability for Engage Life Customer Satisfaction and manage Atria’s Engage Life operations to Atria’s proprietary Quality Enhancement standards.
    • Oversee and manage the Engage Life resident engagement budget.
    • Oversee the preparation of quarterly resident engagement executive level briefing material and guide decision making.
    • Help stakeholders turn ideas into solutions that leverage technology to differentiate us from our competitors.
    • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Hospitality, Gerontology, Communications, Recreational Therapy, or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
    • Senior level executive support experience with eight (8) or more years of demonstrated accomplishments.
    • Demonstrated track record of successfully completed strategic projects.
    • Knowledgeable of operations in multi-unit business sector.
    • Outstanding business acumen.
    • Expertise in strategic planning and analytical thinking.
    • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent PowerPoint and “story telling” capabilities.
    • Required Travel: 10-20% of the time on behalf of the Company.
