    Responsibilities

    The Real Estate Counsel provides legal support for the Company’s development and redevelopment projects, and real estate and corporate transactions across the United States, as well as provides day-to-day counseling to management on construction, real estate and corporate matters.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide legal support for acquisition, development and redevelopment initiatives.
    • Manage legal aspects of real estate projects, including land use/entitlements, construction and financing.
    • Advise management and support Atria’s senior living communities on various real estate issues.
    • Draft, negotiate, review and comment on agreements and other legal documents.
    • Manage work of outside counsel and associated costs.
    • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Five (5) or more years of experience in transactional real estate practice; prior in-house experience is preferred.
    • Real estate development and/or construction law experience a plus.
    • Strong corporate law background.
    • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships.
    • Outstanding organization and planning skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
