Responsibilities

The Test Kitchen Chef acts as the expert in the innovation and development of recipes, menus, and ingredient selection. This individual also provides oversight of the test kitchen operations, Atria Hospitality Events and Bistro Operations.

 

  • Use expertise to create, develop and test recipes, ingredients, and menus.
  • Develop standardized tools for the Company such as recipes, menus, and order guides for use at the communities by the Directors of Culinary Services.
  • Partner with the Senior Vice President of Culinary and Engage Life, as well as the Executive Chef to create standards and policies to run efficient and safe kitchens throughout the Company.
  • Create materials and a teaching environment to effetely train new and current culinary staff throughout the Company.
  • Work with food, supply and equipment vendors to find innovative products to increase efficiencies and expenses while maintaining and/or increasing customer satisfaction and hospitality experience.
  • Oversee the Support Center Bistro operations and staff.      
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating assigned staff.
  • Oversee Atria Culinary catering events that are held on and off site. Manage the budget and revenue for these events.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Culinary Education – Certified Executive Chef.
  • Five (5) or more years of Restaurant/Hospitality Kitchen Management experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of Catering Event planning experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of teaching/training experience.
  • Experience and expertise in creating and developing recipes.
  • Computer savvy; able to quickly learn and become proficient in software programs.
  • Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
